The Japanese Swordsmanship Society has a limited but growing number of videos for sale. The subject matter is the various types of Budo that the JSS is interested in.

The INF 3rd World Naginata Championship (2 DVD set)

This covers the entire Taikai held at San Jose State University on June 28, 2003. It begins with the entrance of the competitors from 8 of the 10 International Naginata Federation (INF) member federations. After the welcoming speeches and instructions to the competitors, there is an Aztec consecration ceremony and dance. Then the entire ENGI competition is shown. This is a contest between two person teams performing Naginata Kata. The next event is the entire Naginata Rhythm competition between teams from the USA and Belgium. The first DVD concludes with the Women’s Individual and Women’s Team competition. The second DVD has the Men’s Individual and Men’s Team competition. This is followed by a very exciting 5 person team match of Naginata vs Kendo. This is a professional grade DVD shot with 4 cameras for total coverage.

The INF 3rd World Naginata Friendship Tournament (1 DVD)

This covers the Tournament for helpers and others held at San Jose State University on June 29, 2003. It begins with the entrance of the competitors from 11 counties. The DVD starts with Dangai Men (under black belt), followed by the Dangai Women, then the Yudansha Men and last the Yudansha Women competition. Note: about half of the Dangai Women and a couple of the Yudansha Women matches are missing. Available by September 15, 2004

SHIDOGAKUIN 20TH ANNIVERSARY IAIDO TOURNAMENT, September 12, 2004 (1 DVD)

This covers the 20th Anniversary of Shidogakuin Iaido Championship held at
the CERC in Jersey City NU on September 12, 2004. Quality of production is a
single camera with a clear view. Some matches have two camera coverage.
Because of the limitation of a single camera, some of the matches are not
shown because the camera could only cover a single court and two courts were
used. Those Mudansha matches on Court A are normally not shown.
Shodan-Nidan matches on Court B are also not shown. All of the Sandan and
up matches are shown since that was on a single court. Extra bonus, the
Ishu Jiai from the day before, featuring Yamauchi Sensei with Naginata vs
Ogawa Sensei with Shinai, is also on this DVD. Available Now.
Jodo Videos
VIDEO #J-1
Jodo at the 100th Kyoto Taikai (1 DVD)

This video will show the entire Kenjutsu and Jodo sections of the 100th Kyoto Taikai held May 3, 2004 in the Butokukan in Kyoto. This is from a single camera viewpoint so there are normally a single pair shown quite clearly in front of the camera with a second pair slightly to the left that is also normally in view. There are one or more pairs not shown because of the position of the camera. Most of the Kenjutsu is from the Shindo Ryu Kenjutsu which is part of the Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo. Available by September 1, 2004.

Unless otherwise noted these videos are available in DVD format only. Prices include shipping in the USA. Orders from outside the USA should add $5 USD to the order for extra shipping and handling charges (see "International Orders" below). The quality of production will range from amateur to professional. The quality of the DVD is normally reflected in the price.
Returns: since not all DVD players are compatible, anyone who cannot read the DVD can get a full refund less a $5 restock fee upon return of the DVD in its original condition.
All prices quoted are in US Dollars. PAYPAL accepted, Money Orders, and personal checks on any American Bank are also accepted, though personal checks will cause a delay until the money clears the banking system before the order is sent.
