The New York Kobujodokai teaches Jodo, an art in which a 4.2-foot wooden staff is used in defense against the sword.
Jodo is an art without sport or competitive aspects, based on defensive techniques. Study consists of individual and partner practice of techniques, followed by two-person kata. The styles of jodo practiced at our dojo are the Seitei-gata jodo of the All Japan Kendo Federation and the Shindo Muso Ryu.
